About Ministry of Works and Infrastructure

The Ministry designs, constructs, rehabilitates and maintains all state roads, bridges, drainage systems and government buildings across Anambra's twenty-one local government areas.

The Anambra State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure is responsible for providing strategic leadership in the planning, development and delivery of public infrastructure across the State.

The Ministry plays a central role in improving road connectivity and delivering infrastructure that supports safer communities, economic activity and sustainable development. Through the construction, rehabilitation and upgrading of roads and associated infrastructure, the Ministry works to connect communities and strengthen the foundations for a more prosperous Anambra.

Guided by sound engineering, effective project management and a commitment to quality, the Ministry is advancing an integrated approach to infrastructure development that considers roads alongside drainage, pedestrian facilities, environmental resilience and other essential supporting systems.

Our goal is simple: to build infrastructure that works for the people today and supports the Anambra of tomorrow.

Arc. Dr. Okey Ezeobi leads the Anambra State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, providing strategic direction for the delivery of road and public infrastructure across the State.

With experience spanning architecture, infrastructure development and public procurement, he brings a strong focus on quality project delivery, effective infrastructure planning and sustainable development. Under his leadership, the Ministry is advancing an integrated approach to road infrastructure that prioritises connectivity, safety, drainage and long-term resilience.

Recent engagements have highlighted his emphasis on strengthening collaboration, improving project delivery and ensuring that infrastructure development contributes meaningfully to Anambra State's economic and social transformation.

Building, inspection and repair of bridges, culverts and river crossings on the state network

Drainage and erosion control

Primary channel desilting, culvert replacement and gully erosion remediation

Construction and maintenance of secretariats, schools, clinics and other government buildings

Contractor registration

Registration, categorisation and prequalification of contractors bidding for state projects

Engineering standards and certification

Setting the technical standards every state project is built to, and certifying work before payment
